On top of the world (well, 292 metres)
Kingfishers enjoyed a scrumptious tea tonight with everyone eating well. This was followed by a brisk walk over the fields to the stepping stones. We then ascended the eastern flank of Thorpe Cloud and all reached the summit (292 m) in good heart. There were many gasps as the children surveyed the view, which extended around fifty miles to the south, reaching as far as the Welsh borders. With the swirling, grey clouds gathering and the light beginning to fade, Kingfishers arrived back at Ilam, ready for their beds. Not surprisingly, most are asleep already!
