Robins celebrate Diwali!

Thursday 26th November

Robins class have been learning about the Hindu festival of light 'Diwali'. We listened to the story of Rama and Sita and how they were guided home by lanterns, which is where the festival gets its name from. So we used clay to make divas to put night lights in.

We also practised a traditional stick dance performed at Diwali:

We also learnt how to greet each other in Hindi 'Namaste'.

We made traditional sweets eaten at Diwali, called barfi. They are made from dessicated coconut, condensed milk and food colouring.

Some people liked them and some people didn't!!

HAPPY DIWALI!!!
