On Monday a group of Year 5 and 6 children from Kingfisher class went to Cromer Academy to develop their leadership skills in sport. They joined children from Cromer Junior School, Holt Primary School and Nothrepps Primary School to learn a variety of new games that they could share with others in their school playgrounds. They also had a chance to invent their own games and teach these to other children. The idea behind the scheme was that these children would be able to lead playground games at break and lunchtimes.
To improve their confidence Mr Coles arranged for these new leaders to each take a small group of children from Woodpecker class and trial some games with them. Thank you to Mrs Dunnet and Mrs Newstead for their invaluable help with this.
Immediately following this, Logan and Lizzie (with help from Amelia) decided to start a weekly lunchtime sports club for Key Stage 1 children. Posters were put up and by the end of the day the club was full. Well done girls.
Here are some images from their confidence boosting session with Woodpeckers.
